I hate the hue
Of city suits--
The navy wool
A substitute
For you.
It helps to walk
As two,
To beat
The blues
Accrued in time
(The rueful rhymes
That dog us still).
And then we will
Join hands and say:
“No, Death, do not!
Do not take us
today.”
